This year’s edition ran under the theme “Global Visionaries and Pioneers — Revolutionising Quality Through Sustainable Innovation.”

Patrick Nsubuga, Brand Ambassador of the East Africa Quality Brands Awards and Alconext Africa, said the initiative serves as a platform to celebrate sustainable, ethical, and innovative practices that continue to shape regional economic transformation.

“These awards recognise those driving growth in the East African region and beyond,” Nsubuga said.

“At the heart of this celebration is trade — more than just the exchange of goods and services. It’s a powerful tool for achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring peace and prosperity for all.”

He reflected on the journey of the awards, noting that since their inception in 2000, numerous organisations — including manufacturers, service providers, and civil society groups — have been evaluated and recognised for excellence.

“Since 2000, our vision has been to create a platform that recognises and evaluates quality across the East African region, shaping industries, empowering communities, and positioning our countries globally,” he said.

Nsubuga added that through the Investors Hub, manufacturers have benefited from global marketing opportunities and access to new markets.

“We have a portal that connects local manufacturers with distributors in other countries, helping them find ready markets for their products,” he explained.

Bella Wines and Juices CEO Prudence Kasibante Ukkonika urged manufacturers to prioritise local suppliers and service providers to promote job creation, tax compliance, and sustainable growth.

Kennedy Omondi, Country Representative of Indomie Ltd, said his company’s recognition reflected its commitment to quality, availability, and affordability.

Among the other award winners were Bakama Property, Huawei Technologies, Kampala City Industries, and Movit Products Ltd.

Others were Biva Organic, Eye Care, Gold Crown Beverages, Hariss International, Plascom, Aqua Industries, Simba Automobiles, and Kumirizi Farm Co.
